Lewiston’s First United Methodist Church’s worship service begins at 9 a.m. Sunday. Musicians from three churches and the Valley Brass Ensemble will play special music associated with Easter. Two pieces, played by the Valley Brass Ensemble, with Dave Wilkinson directing and arranged by Stephan Walters, are “O Sons and Daughters, Let Us Sing” and “Thine is the Glory,” accompanied by the church’s music director, Kris Haynal on organ. The brass players include John Guillotte, Paul Wilkinson, Brendan Burns, Daniel Wilkinson, Braden Stanyer, James Payne and Katie Folkenberg. The church’s Handbell Choir will combine with members from Clarkston’s United Methodist Church and the Seventh-day Adventist Church Handbell Choirs to play Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” In addition, “Resurrection Declaration,” written by Victor Johnson, will be played by the Brass Ensemble, the combined Bell Choirs and the Chancel Choir, with Mark Haynal accompanying on piano. A social hour will follow Pastor Cody Stauffer’s Easter message. The church is located at 1906 Broadview Drive in Lewiston.
