Youla Ray Chapman, 97, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Royal Plaza in Lewiston. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Clifford, Ill.

Youla graduated high school in Jerome, Ariz., and later attended college at Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz.

She and Joe Chapman were married June 4, 1946, in Kingman, Ariz., and she became a homemaker.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and canning. She also loved being a homemaker and was an excellent seamstress.

Her life was centered around her family and her strong Christian faith. She was very involved in her church.

Youla is survived by her stepson, Larry Joe Chapman (Chris); daughters Susan (Les) Morrison, Chris (Jim) Goffinet and Mary (Doug) Church; grandchildren Todd, Shelly, Cody, Kara and Karin; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Joe Chapman.

A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Funeral Home.
