Robert Lee Shook, 81, of Bovill, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Life Care Center in Lewiston, from complications of lung cancer.
Robert was born to G.W. Shook and Lillian Andreassen Oct. 4, 1937, in Moscow. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1958, and married Glenna Trimble on July 18, 1958, in Coeur d’Alene.
He was a 77-year resident of Bovill. Robert worked in the pole yard in Bovill for five years. Robert spent many years in the fuel and oil business, hauling fuel and running gas and service stations. He then began a logging career and started his own logging company, R.L. Shook Logging in Bovill, in 1970. He retired in 1997. Robert was also a fire chief in Bovill for many years and served on the Bovill City Council.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna Shook, of Lewiston; daughter Sheila (Michael) Ruark of Clarkston; sons Jim (Carrie) Shook of Moscow and Dick Shook of Alaska; grandaughters Stephanie (Josh) Arnzen of Craigmont, Staci (Josh) McKay of Lewiston and Abby Shook of Moscow; grandsons Bill Shook of Moscow, Eric (Amy) Lunsford of Lewiston and Nick Shook of Moscow; and great-grandkids Olivia Arnzen, Jackson Arnzen, Brendan Lunsford, Eliza Johnson, Emmy McKay and Milo McKay.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be from noon to 3 p.m. July 21 at the Bovill Days picnic at East City Park in Bovill. It will be a covered-dish style meal. Please bring a dish to share, a lawn chair and memories.
Memorial donations may be given to the Bovill Fire Department.
