This is only goodbye for now.
Maudie Mae was born Feb. 25, 1934, to Maude and Arthur Olson. She was the little sister to Robert, Arthur Jr., Donna and James. She was raised on the Little Salmon River and Craigmont, where she met her love, Norman Stelljes. They married and moved to Lewiston and raised their children Wayne, Becky and Jan.
Her family, in-laws, friends and their children were very close.
There were many picnics, camping and fishing trips, family dinners — and she made the best potato salad.
Maudie decided to do interior house painting, then she got a job with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in the laundry department.
In retirement, she and Norman would walk daily. They took trips to Reno, Nev. She liked the local casino and everyone knew her.
She loved her family, including her children’s spouses, Karla, Mike and Butch; the grandchildren, Cori, Travis, Jennifer and Rick; the great-grandchildren, Caylie, Gage, Ellie and Zoe. She was mom and grandma to many.
Maudie was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in her 70s. She stayed active as long as she could. She was a beautiful lady.
Parkinson’s disease finally ended her life Friday, June 7, 2019. There will be no service.
