Lewiston High School cheerleaders schedule fundraiser Saturday
The Lewiston High School cheerleaders will hold a Mini Cheer Camp fundraiser Saturday at Booth Hall.
The camp is open to first- through sixth-graders. Cost is $20. Those who register today will be guaranteed a T-shirt.
Funds raised will go for competition fees and expenses, uniforms, equipment and other needs for the squad.

Lincoln Middle School students take part in music ensemble
Forty-one Clarkston Lincoln Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade music students participated in the Southeast Washington Music Educators Solo and Ensemble Festival Feb. 3 in Pullman.
Students receiving superior ratings were: Ashley Bell, Zefr Chao, Sean Crosby, Ashlynn Cseh, Kelli Danner, Jenna Divine, Brook Goin, Shyanne Lacock, Joshua Latella, Garrison Layes, Samantha Lenz, Austin Mason, Colton McNamee, Tori Meier, Seth Nacke, Levi Nichols, Cody Riggs, Jill Robinson, Brady Ross-Minton, Tori Rowland, Jenna Tank, Shane Shown, Bradyn Watson, Alyssa Williams, Laura Wilson.

Pullman High School Orchestra nabs top academic honors
PULLMAN -- The Pullman High School Orchestra was named Les Schwab Tires 2A academic state champions by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association for the 2006-07 school year.
The 57 members of the group combined for a grade-point average of 3.54. This is the fourth consecutive year the orchestra has won the award.
Asotin High School musicians qualify for honor band and choir
ASOTIN -- Eleven musicians at Asotin High School have qualified for the Southeast Washington Honor Band and Choir.
Choir members include Sarah Boles, Tami Brooks, Teddi Phares, Brittney Walden, Katie Uptagrafft and Maggie Pierce. Band members are Laura Leisi, Karen Vallandigham, Xavier McClain, Jennifer Treib and Corey Clark.
The honor groups, made of students from around the region, will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Colfax High School gym. Admission is $5 for families, $3 for adults and $1 for students.
Coaches invited to clinic to prepare for math competition
A clinic for coaches in the Lewiston Math Competition will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Webster Elementary School library.
The clinic is for coaches and parents of teams registered for the competition.
Kennewick marimba ensemble will perform for Clarkston kids
A marimba ensemble from Kennewick's Sunset View Elementary School will perform for Clarkston fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Clarkston High School auditorium.
Clarkston High School students head to Seattle for DECA contest
Clarkston High School students will travel to Seattle to participate in the state DECA competition Thursday through Saturday. Competing students will have the chance to qualify for the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., in April.
Troy Elementary School group sets family fun night Friday
TROY -- The Troy Elementary Parents Group will sponsor Spudingo, a family fun night from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the elementary school.
Spudingo is a bingo-type game. Food, drinks and desserts will be available.
Parkway kindergarten students will perform music program
Clarkston's Parkway Elementary School kindergartners will present a music program at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Clarkston High School auditorium.
Highland Elementary School students plan music program
Clarkston's Highland Elementary School students will perform a music program at 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday in the school gym.
Lincoln Middle School Choir will stage one-act Disney musical
Clarkston's Lincoln Middle School Choir will present a one-act version of Disney's "The High School Musical" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Clarkston High School auditorium.
The lead roles will be played by eighth-graders Stephanie McCracken, Eric Holman and Jenna Tank, and seventh-grader Joshua Latella.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $1 for elementary school students and senior citizens.
Kamiah parent group schedules Fiesta to raise money for school
KAMIAH -- The Kamiah Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will hold a Fiesta at 6 p.m. Friday in the school's multi-purpose room.
The fiesta will feature door prizes, entertainment and a silent auction, as well as a 50/50 drawing. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Money raised will help replace playground equipment at the school.
Clarkston sixth-grade math team will compete Friday in Spokane
Clarkston's sixth-grade math team will compete in the Math Is Cool competition Friday at Mt. Spokane High School in Spokane.
Four Clarkston students qualify for Regional Spelling Bee Saturday
Four Clarkston students will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Williams Conference Center at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
The competing students are: Scarlett Critchfield, seventh grade, Lincoln Middle School; Maddy Thomas, fourth grade, Highland Elementary; Ashley Rasmussen, sixth grade, Heights Elementary; and Brayden White, sixth grade, Parkway Elementary. White finished in third place overall in last year's regional bee.
The winner will compete in the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
