A 5-year-old girl was hospitalized Thursday after she was hit by a vehicle near 10th and Poplar streets in Clarkston.
The child reportedly ran into the street in the residential area and was struck by a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Shayla L. Peters, 26, of Clarkston, who was traveling west on Poplar Street, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.
The child was taken by ambulance to an area hospital before being taken by air to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Clarkston police responded to the incident at about 3:30 p.m., and the ongoing investigation is being conducted by Washington State Patrol.
This marks the third vehicle-pedestrian accident that has occurred in Clarkston over the past few weeks, CPD Chief Joel Hastings said.
