Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officials have not been able to confirm reports of wolves near the Clarkston landfill and Silcott Road earlier this week.
Reported sightings of as many as six “huge wolves” near the Clarkston Heights have been circulating on Facebook, but Jeff Wade, the agency’s wildlife conflict specialist, said he was unable to find any wolf tracks in the area on Friday. Wade said he didn’t expect to see the animals, which are known to move great distances in short periods of time. However, he said the animals would leave tracks.
He said he was doing a general search and did not have information about the exact location of the sightings.
