Eleven people who work in north central Idaho and southeastern Washington have received Patriotic Employer Awards for their support of the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve.
The recognition is given through a program affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense.
“The ... award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leave of absence if needed,” according to a news release about the awards.
The honorees are:
Ryan Guiterrez, assistant manager, Moscow Walmart.
Zack Williams, store manager, Clarkston Walmart.
Wendy Smiley-Johnson, owner of the Moscow Alehouse.
Norman Pendegraft, professor of management information systems, University of Idaho College of Business and Economics.
Michael Placke, information technology supervisor for the computer and internet network that serves UI’s Housing and Residence Life department.
Anthony Schmidt, of Schmidt Transport in Potlatch.
Dustin Downs, operations supervisor, Vista Outdoor Lewiston.
Andy Bodden, operations supervisor, Vista Outdoor Lewiston.
Largent Reeb, investment and insurance coordinator, Potlatch No. 1 Financial Credit Union, Lewiston.
Dillon Watson, production lead in the planer department at Idaho Forest Group in Lewiston.
Tim Ward, associate manufacturing supervisor, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Lewiston.
