Blast from the Past / 1969: Trying out his dad’s chair

Ron Williams stretches to reach the microphone above his father’s seat in 1969 in the Idaho State Capitol building in Boise. His father, the late Edward V. Williams, was elected to the Idaho House of Representatives in 1962 from Lewiston and served as House Minority Leader. The Williams Conference Center on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston is named for him. Ron Williams, who celebrates his 60th birthday this month, lived for many years in Lewiston and now lives in Ball Ground, Ga.
