Arlene Elizabeth Scott of Lewiston will be honored with an open house celebration and lunch from noon to 3 p.m. June 22 at CrossPoint Alliance Church in Lewiston. The occasion is her 90th birthday.
She was born June 8, 1929, in Eugene, Ore., to Elroy and Myrtle (Brownlee) McDole. The family moved to Ontario, Ore., when she was 4 and she graduated from high school there in 1947. She worked for two years at C.C. Anderson department store in Ontario.
She and Dale H. Scott were married Feb. 14, 1949, in Ontario. In 1953, the family moved to Orofino where she worked for 17 years at Watkins Dry Goods, which later became the Centre.
While they were raising their family, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed attending the sports activities of their children. She was active in the Orofino Methodist Church and the Orofino Eagles No. 3893 Auxiliary. The couple moved to Lewiston in 2012.
Her hobbies include sewing quilts, crafts and reading, and she enjoys walking her dog and participating in Fit and Fall Proof exercise class.
Her husband died Jan. 4, 2015.
She has two daughters, one son, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
