The Lewiston couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. July 13 in the Sternwheeler Room of Clarkston’s Quality Inn.
Bill Schrupp and Patricia Walker were married July 12, 1969, at the Methodist Church in Clarkston.
He was a patrol officer with the Lewiston Police Department, and later the Idaho State Police based in Idaho Falls and the Coeur d’Alene area. He then worked as a senior probation and parole officer with the state of Idaho in Lewiston for nearly 20 years. He retired from the state in 2008. Bill also worked as a high school basketball official for 18 years.
She worked as a registered nurse, specializing in labor and delivery at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for 28 years. She was a Clinical Care Coordinator in Family Beginnings when she retired from there in 2011.
Together, they enjoy camping, traveling, going on cruises and visiting their daughter and grandchildren. They also spend time caring for their home and yard. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Lewiston.
They have two daughters, Dorinda (Greg) Gilliam and Christy (Mike Giacomino) Gabby. They have two grandchildren, Grace and Jaxson Gabby.
Their daughters will be hosts for the celebration.
