Wheat Commission meeting slated for June 13
MOSCOW — The Idaho Wheat Commission will meet beginning at 8 a.m. June 13 at the University of Idaho College of Agriculture and Life Sciences building, 606 South Rayburn St. Room 62.
Agenda items include approval and finalization of the fiscal year 2020 budget, a review of financial statements, marketing programs, plans to host trade teams in June, July and September, research projects and other topics.
Changes to the administrative rules for the commission will be discussed and a new chairman and co-chairman will be elected by the current wheat commissioners.

Landowner cost-share program set for June 18
OROFINO — A cost-share program for landowners will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. June 18 at the University of Idaho Extension office at 2200 Michigan Ave. in Orofino.
Sign-in begins at 5:30 p.m., and cost of the program is $10 per person. Pre-registration is encouraged.
Topics include cost sharing from the Natural Resources Conservation Service for tree planting, building paddock fencing and ponds, and other activities.

UI extension offering insect field trip
KAMIAH — The University of Idaho Extension office is offering a one-day field trip June 20 aimed at giving participants first-hand exposure to a wide range of insects, diseases and parasitic plants that impair the growth of trees and forests in northern Idaho.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning at the Idaho Department of Lands office here, 913 Third St. Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and cost is $15 per person.
Experts will be on hand to help participants identify insect and disease symptoms and discuss practical long-term and short-term methods of dealing with them.
