Our loving mother, Dorothy May Postlewait, 86, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society - Moscow Village, Moscow.

She was born Feb. 13, 1932, at Potlatch to Oscar and Isabel (Allen) Severson. She attended the Rock Creek Country School and then moved to Spokane and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital. There, she met and fell in love with Richard "Dick" Postlewait, and the couple were married June 18, 1954, at Spokane. They traveled the world, as Richard was in the U.S. Air Force.

Dorothy and Richard enjoyed square dancing and taking trips to the coast, walking on the beach and having campfires, spending time with their daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed having the kids over to stay and play at her home. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery and reading a good book. She always found time and a spot to put in a garden and canned fruits and vegetables. She was an amazing cook, cooking dinners, pies and bread for the family gatherings.

After Richard retired from the Air Force, they moved to Potlatch in 1975. Dorothy drove school bus for the Potlatch School District for 27 years. She retired in 2003. The couple moved to Viola in 1980. Mr. Postlewait passed away on Jan. 11, 2006.
