Chong Wang
Chong Wang

Where do you begin to write an obituary for your beloved son? I guess at the beginning. I met my son and my wife online eight years ago. They were both from Beijing, China. His mother and I fell in love online and were married eight years ago in Lewiston. My joy in life was Chong, my son. We played games online with each other before I went to Beijing to meet his beautiful mother and him. He was a very bright boy and when I went to China, I would get up early and make him an American breakfast before he went to school. I had never made hash browns in a wok, but learned how and he loved it. I went to China in December and his mother and I bought a Christmas tree and took it to their apartment and decorated and put presents under the tree. This was a first for him and I still remember the delight and excitement in his eyes when he got up Christmas morning and saw the tree and what Santa had left him. This was a tradition in our family every year.

Our son Chong, 16, was called home to his heavenly father, Saturday, June 8, 2013. We do not know why, but he was called and he went. Some day maybe we will know why but it is not revealed to us at this time. Chong was a very good boy and loved his mother, father and brother very much. He leaves behind many friends who attended Lewiston High School with him, and on the Internet.

He always aspired to be the very best because he knew that his mother had come to America to better his educational experience. He once wrote to her how much he admired his mother as being the champion of our family. He wrote that his mom was considerate, courteous, generous and he loved her because she would not give up on anything.

He always appreciated his family, and his family always appreciated Chong. I don't know how we will get along without our precious Chong, but he will always be with us in our hearts and in our minds forever, until one day in the future when we will all meet again with our Lord in Heaven. Rest well, our loved son.

He is survived by his mother, Xiaoying Christison, father Clayton W. Christison and brother Xing Yang, all of Lewiston; grandfather Gingchao Song and grandmother Bochao Shuai, both of Sichuan, China; and aunt Yan Wang of Indianapolis.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at CrossPoint Alliance Church, 1330 Powers Ave., Lewiston. Burial will follow at Normal Hill Cemetery. Please sign the online guest book at www.malcomsfuneralhome.com.
