Judy Marie Giordano Slay Stewart was born Sept. 24, 1951, to Joseph J. Giordano and Darlene Winder in Idaho Falls.

When Judy was 5 years old, she met her dad who would raise her. Her mom married Lawrence Monroe Slay Jr. in June of 1956. We've been told that because Larry was so sweet to Judy, he won her mama over.

Judy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life. She loved the church and loved her visiting teachers and home teachers coming over to see her.

She lived in many states in the Western United States including Idaho, Nevada, California, Washington and Oregon. Judy lived in the Pierce, Orofino and Grangemont area for 26 years. For the last 13 years she lived in Lewiston.

She started her schooling in Boise and graduated in June 1969 from Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. She attended community college in California.

Judy met Dick Stewart in 1974 and they were married Feb. 27, 1976. They were soulmates and each other's love of their lives. Dick will truly miss his loving wife.

Judy stood at 4 feet 9 inches tall, but her presence was big. She always had a ready laugh and hug for those around her. She worked hard and played hard. Judy loved to go camping and fishing with her family and friends out in the area of the North Fork of the Clearwater River. She loved her fish fries we would have out at camp.

She loved her coding job she had at Southway Internists and adored all the people she worked with.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dick, of 37 years; their son, Jon and daughter-in-law Audra Stewart; a sister in Vancouver, Wash.; a brother in Fairbanks, Alaska; a brother teaching in Japan; and a sister in Seattle.

Before Judy's mother passed away, Judy took care of her with great love and patience. Judy's dad and stepmother reside in Seattle.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Church First Ward, 836 Preston Ave., Lewiston.
