Dorothy Alice Rinard, age 91, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Clarkston Care Center.

A rosary and memorial Mass will be Tuesday at Clarkston's Holy Family Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 2 p.m., followed by the memorial Mass at 3 p.m.

Dorothy was born Oct. 16, 1917, at Lewiston, to Jesse Orville Parkins and Roxie Mae Payton Parkins. She attended schools in Lewiston.

After her marriage to Oran E. Rinard on July 16, 1934, Dorothy was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She, Oran and their children were members of Clarkston's Holy Family Catholic Church. Dorothy was an avid gardener and delighted with her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy and Oran had five children, Glenn E. Rinard, Alice Rinard Alboucq, Mary Ann Rinard Gilchrist, Pamela Rinard Robertson and Joe Rinard.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Mary Ann Gilchrist of Canada and daughter Pam and Dick Robertson of Pomeroy. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Patt Rinard of Clarkston and son-in-law Leon Alboucq of Clarkston. Grandchildren include Lance and Pam Rinard, formerly of Spokane and currently of Clarkston, Larry Rinard of Washington, D.C., Jeff Rinard of Clarkston, Kathy Ainsworth of Clark Fork, Idaho, Keri and Mark Flemming of Clarkston, Brad and Rhona Alboucq of Clarkston, Greg Alboucq of Clarkston, Dan and Sheri Gilchrist of Everett, Wash., Chris Gilchrist of Portland, Ore., Ryan Robertson of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Abby Robertson of Seattle, and Joe's daughter, Nettie and Rob Taylor of Brandon, Ore. Dorothy is survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, Glenn and Joe; her daughter, Alice; grandchild, Joe's son Roy Clark Rinard; and great-grandson Brian Glenn Rinard, son of Lance.

Dorothy wished that any memorial gift be made to either Clarkston's Holy Family Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
