Chancey Ellwood Kunkle, 92, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at home.
Chancey was born July 19, 1919, to Stacey and Luna Kunkle in Columbus, Mont. He grew up in Culdesac on the family ranch. He married the love of his life, Velma (Babe) Braden, July 2, 1946.
He enjoyed gardening and giving away big tomatoes, volunteering at Tri-State Memorial Hospital, baking, woodworking, rock-hounding, miniature trains and time with his family.
Chancey is survived by his wife, Velma; two daughters, Janet and Jackie and Mike; granddaughter Caitlin; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings.
He requested that there be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Tri-State Memorial Hospital Foundation, Box 626, Clarkston, WA 99403; or to the Lewis-Clark Animal Shelter in Lewiston.
