A two-motorcycle accident at the interchange of U.S. Highway 95 and U.S. Highway 12 near the Spalding Bridge left three people in the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Idaho State Police Trooper Cory Juber said one motorcycle with two riders missed the exit to get on U.S. Highway 95 and began to turn around in the middle of U.S. Highway 12, when another motorcyclist collided with their bike.

Juber said the vehicle turning around in the roadway slid about 50 feet after the collision.

He said all three people involved in the crash were in stable condition and were taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Their names have not yet been released by the Idaho State Police.

Highway 12 was closed for about 45 minutes while police and Lewiston emergency responders tended to the crash victims.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office assisted ISP with the investigation.
