Snake River Adventures barn destroyed by fire

GARDEN CREEK RANCH -- A barn on the Snake River that is owned by Snake River Adventures burned down this weekend.

Snake River Adventures organizes jet boat tours in Hells Canyon. According to a Facebook post from the company, there were no injuries from the fire at Garden Creek Ranch, which is upstream of Heller Bar, on the Idaho side of the Snake River, just across the river from the Washington-Oregon border.

The barn housed Snake River Adventures’ gift shop, dining hall and a riverview deck. As of Sunday afternoon, the company does not know what caused the fire.

“This will not change any of our future tours,” the company wrote. “We will just not be able to stop there for a few weeks while the clean up takes place for everyone's safety.”
