PULLMAN - The former owner of Pullman's Baskin-Robbins pleaded guilty in Whitman County Superior Court on Friday to raping a child in his downtown ice cream shop.
Dennis Cox, 59, of Pullman, pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts, including third-degree rape of a child.
According to court documents, an unnamed juvenile female told Pullman police detectives that Cox sexually assaulted her from December 2016 to June 2017 inside Baskin-Robbins, at Cox's home and inside his car.
The girl reportedly said Cox asked five or six times a week, or "practically" every day, and sometimes "twice a day" for her to reveal herself to him.
The girl said he would try to kiss her and ask her to get nude in the ice cream shop bathroom before business began, according to court documents.
Cox is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 3. The felony counts Cox admitted to carry a maximum of 61 months in prison and a mandatory minimum of 46 months in prison.
Whitman County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dan LeBeau said Cox was taken into custody following the plea.
