Parents file lawsuit in sexual battery case

Suit alleges Idaho County and three law enforcement personnel violated their constitutional rights

GRANGEVILLE - The parents of a girl who was the victim of a sexual battery by a former Idaho County sheriff's deputy are asking for a jury trial and unspecified damages in federal court for violation of their U.S. constitutional rights.

The Idaho County couple and their daughter have named former deputy Daniel L. Funderburg, current Idaho County Chief Deputy Jim Georges, Sheriff Doug Giddings and Idaho County in the lawsuit filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Coeur d'Alene.
