Posted: Friday, August 24, 2012 12:00 am

The Cache Creek Fire burning in the northern end of Hells Canyon grew to 19,000 acres and destroyed the Coon Hollow cabin, a makeshift museum and popular stop for boaters.

According to a map on the fire information site inciweb.org, the fire's eastern front along the Snake River stretches from about Wild Goose Rapid in Washington south to an area just upriver of Coon Hollow and the Cochran Islands.
