The death penalty will not be sought against a Lewiston woman charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a toddler.

Natasha N. Hodges, 29, pleaded innocent to the charge last week in Lewiston's 2nd District Court. She was previously indicted by a grand jury on allegations she caused the death of Rylee Mingo, a 2-year-old girl she was baby-sitting in August. According to the indictment, Mingo died from an apparent injury to the abdomen and subsequent internal bleeding.
