Environmental groups challenge timber sale Friends of the Clearwater claims Little Slate Project will damage habitat for several threatened species

Two environmental groups have filed a 60-day notice of intent to sue the U.S. Forest Service over a timber sale southeast of Grangeville.

The Moscow-based Friends of the Clearwater and Helena, Mont.-based Alliance of the Wild Rockies say the Little Slate Project on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests will harm several species protected by the Endangered Species Act.
