Three run against Grow for commission seat

Nez Perce County incumbent faces GOP primary test

Posted: Friday, April 27, 2012 12:00 am

Three people filed a challenge to first-term Nez Perce County Commissioner Michael A. Grow in next month's Republican primary.

Grow is running for re-election at District 1 on a record of cutting government spending, and with an indictment on charges of sexual assault pending in Valley County. Challengers Taxpayers Against Unfair Taxation Chairman David M. Estes and former Region II Juvenile Detention Center employee Steve Jenkins believe the county should make a better effort at reducing its spending, while retired Valley Vision executive director and onetime Yuma, Ariz., mayor Robert H. Tippett believes the county should do more to bring jobs to the area.
