If you have snapshots to enter in the 16th annual SnapShoot summer photo contest, now is a good time to divide them into four groups, so you can enter them in all four weekly contests - even if you have just four photos.

The contest is worth a couple of your best efforts: a funny moment, a killer sunset, cute kids, a great sports moment, the vast vista you can't forget, or whatever you saw and did that makes a strong memory in a photo. And it's worth part of $2,000.

Anything goes in this simple competition. There are no categories, so all types of photos compete. The most interesting pictures seem to rise to the surface. Those are the ones to send.

And you can win gift cards from Taco Time and Arby's during the contest and gift cards from DynaMart-Chevron when it's completed.

The hard part is to make sure you write your name, address and phone number on the back of each print.

Take them to the DynaMart-Chevron stations on 21st Street and Thain Road in Lewiston, or the Lewiston and Clarkston Arby's and Taco Time Restaurants, plus the Arby's in Moscow.

Take in a few each week, or mail them to the Lewiston Tribune at P.O. Box 957, Lewiston, ID 83501. The maximum size is 8 by 12 inches. Digital photos must be entered as prints.

Entries must have been taken since Jan. 1, 2010, by amateur photographers in the Lewiston Tribune circulation area, or be mail or online subscribers.

If you want your photo returned, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your print for return after the contest.

Then the game is on.

We'll judge them each week and show the eight best on the SundayAM covers of July 17, 24, 31 and Aug. 7, with the finalists on Aug. 14.
