UPDATED 5:15 P.M.: One dead at apparent shooting in Peck

UPDATED 5:15 P.M.: The shooting took place at 114 N. Main St. in Peck.

Nez Perce County Sheriff Joe Rodriguez said two shots were fired at the single-wide trailer.

Rodriguez said the shooting is believed to have been precipitated by an earlier situation in Orofino. Details about what took place at the home have not been released.

Investigating deputies have not yet entered the home.

3:54 P.M.: PECK — One person is dead at an apparent shooting in Peck, according to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.

One subject is being detained, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The sheriff’s office received a call at 3 p.m. today of a shooting in the Peck area. Law enforcement from Nez Perce and Clearwater sheriffs’ departments remain on scene, along with Idaho State Police and Clearwater medical personnel.

More information will be released as it becomes available, according to the news release.
